How to build a house in Greece
This is a guide on how to build your Greek Home. This section has information regarding the building codes and restrictions for Skopelos. We also advise on the type of certificates and permits needed to build your house. If you are restoring an old kalivi or house, see our section on renovation. Remember that all the required certificates should be in place before you buy the property. If you want to build, then the sale should be conditional on proof that a permit to build can be properly obtained.

We have put together a legal information guide to buying property in the Greek Islands. This is a guide and should be viewed as such. Each Island may have slightly different property laws. The Greek government could also change existing laws or bring out new ones. It is always best to use a lawyer who is familiar with the Real Estate laws of the Island you plan to buy on.
