Skopelos Island - Skopelos Town
Skopelos Town Guide
Skopelos Town is the main town situated in the north of the Island. Small houses line the narrow cobblestone streets, rising from the port of Skopleos. This pretty town is situated around the foot of a ruined Castle. Most new houses are built very much in the traditional style. This is because Skopelos Town has been honoured by a presidential decree as a Traditional settlement of outstanding beauty. The architectural style is similar to that found in northern Greece, white-washed buildings with wooden balconies and terracotta roof tiles. The town offers an array of shops, bars and restaurants, including good quality jewellery shops facing the port. Meandering the streets you will find little churches dotted around. It's impossible not be taken in by the towns quiet charm and relaxing atmosphere, as you soak up the sunshine in one of the many restaurants or bars situated by the Port. A perfect place to watch the sunset, have a glass of wine, and take it easy
